Witch’s Will

I will remain in “mourning” so long as Obama’s unworthy ass sits in the Oval Office.

Don’t blame Obama and his administration alone for this bullshit – Bush started it with “Free Speech Zones”. Tell the truth and shame the devil.

My Top Stories For Today:

Moral Bankruptcy

Sowell   by Thomas Sowell
If you want to get some idea of the moral bankruptcy of our educational system, read an article in the May 4th issue of the New York Times Magazine titled, “The Tale of Two Schools.”

The article is not about moral bankruptcy. But it is itself an example of the moral bankruptcy behind the many failures of American education today.

Someone had the bright idea of pairing public high school kids from a low-income neighborhood in the Bronx with kids from a private high school that charges $43,000 a year.

When the low-income youngsters visited the posh private school, “they were just overwhelmed” by it, according to the New York Times. “One kid ran crying off campus.” Apparently others felt “so disheartened about their own circumstances.”

What earthly good did that do for these young people? Thank heaven no one was calloused enough to take me on a tour of a posh private school when I was growing up in Harlem.

No doubt those adults who believe in envy and resentment get their jollies from doing things like this — and from feeling that they are creating future envy and resentment voters to forward the ideological agenda of the big government left.

But at the expense of kids?

There was a time when common sense and common decency counted for something. Educators felt a responsibility to equip students with solid skills that could take them anywhere they wanted to go in later life — enable them to become doctors, engineers or whatever they wanted to be.

Too many of today’s “educators” see students as a captive audience for them to manipulate and propagandize.

These young people do not yet have enough experience to know that posh surroundings are neither necessary nor sufficient for a good education. Is anyone foolish enough to think that making poor kids feel disheartened is doing them a favor?

Gowdy brings prosecutor’s zeal to Benghazi probe

By Oren Dorell

Colleagues of the House Republican who will head an expansive committee into Benghazi say he has a reputation as an attack-dog questioner and a prosecutor’s talent for getting to the bottom of complex matters.

In just three years in the House, Trey Gowdy of South Carolina has become a favorite of conservatives who believe the Obama administration politicized the intelligence in the attack that left four Americans dead.

At the same time, some Democrats say he may be far too partisan to chair a select committee in which he must handle the investigation with even-handedness.

“Trey Gowdy is as dogged, focused and serious-minded as they come,” House Speaker John Boehner said in announcing him as chair of the committee. “His background as a federal prosecutor and his zeal for the truth make him the ideal person to lead this panel.”

Gowdy began serving in Congress only in 2011 and has made a name for himself by going after top administration officials with the same fervor he once reserved for murder convicts he sent to death row as a prosecutor in South Carolina, colleagues say.

Rep. Scott DesJarlais, R-Tenn., who sits next to Gowdy on House Committee on Oversight and Reform, said Gowdy “has the respect of both Republicans and Democrats and will be trusted to get to the truth.”

Rep. Elijah Cummings, the ranking Democrat on the oversight committee, said Gowdy may be a smart interrogator, but said he’s only seen his “prosecutorial side.”

While truth needs to be sought, “I am also in pursuit of fairness,” Cummings said. “I am not comfortable that the select committee would meet that standard.”

Cummings proves once again that he’s an idiot. Seeking truth isn’t about “fairness” – truth is about what actually happened. It isn’t about being”fair”. What a fool to even say something so stupid.

WaPo Concedes Media’s ObamaCare Propaganda Campaign Failed

By John Nolte

Any hope the media and Obama had that the endless trumpeting of the phony 8 million enrollment number would turn public opinion around for ObamaCare has just evaporated with this latest round of polling. The Washington Post has now been forced to concede that media’s propaganda campaign failed. ObamaCare is unpopular and is likely to stay that way:

In just one week, a barrage of national polling has reached the same verdict: Obamacare’s Rocky Balboa-esque announcement that 8 million people have signed up for health care has done absolutely nothing to reverse the law’s basic and long-standing unpopularity. …

The stagnant numbers would seem to fly in the face of the strong publicity the law earned by passing 7 million and then 8 million sign-ups. For a law that had experienced almost nothing but bad news for months, one would think a little good news would lead to at least a little recovery.

And some polls initially suggested that might be the case. But whatever momentum the law carried from the sign-ups announcement — and a later projection that it will actually cost less than previously thought — has gone by the wayside.

The stark numbers are bad news for Democrats, but they also shouldn’t be surprising. Attitudes on the law have not fluctuated much since its passage in 2010 and are deeply entwined with long-held partisan loyalties, helped along by a highly political public debate.

It is not just that 55% oppose the law, according to Pew. WaPo fails to mention that only 41% approve. WaPo also repeats the 8 million number without bothering to point out that it’s a phony, made-up number created by a dishonest administration.

Obama Enlists Weather Forecasters to do His Global Warming PR

columnist avatar Keith koffler  by Keith Koffler

Today, President Obama is using the most journalistically challenged faction of the profession, weather dudes and gals, to hype the new White House report asserting that climate change is going to smite humankind – and other kinds – unless we radically cut back on emissions.

Will any of these awe-struck characters ask President Obama why the earth hasn’t warmed in 15 years?

Proving once again that there is NO serious person in the White House. Weather forecasters – who can’t be depended upon to be right for next week are going to talk about “climate change” which is not only above their pay grade but above their ability to understand.

Polls Show ObamaCare Not Getting More Popular, Despite Their Happy Enrollment Talk

By Randy Hall

During the past two months, most of what we’ve heard about the Affordable Care Act was the administration’s announcement on March 31 that the target total of more than 7 million people had signed up for ObamaCare, and by May 1, that figure had grown to 8 million enrollees.

However, four polls were released during the past week that resulted in the same message: ObamaCare isn’t getting any more popular — and probably won’t in the future, according to an article published in Tuesday’s edition of the Washington Post by reporters Scott Clement and Aaron Blake.

The newsmen began their story by stating that “a barrage of national polling has reached the same verdict: ObamaCare’s Rocky Balboa-esque announcement that 8 million people have signed up for health care has done absolutely nothing to reverse the law’s basic and long-standing unpopularity.”

The surveys they referred to were conducted by the Pew Research Center/USA Today, the Kaiser Family Foundation, a Post-ABC poll and an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, all of which “found little lasting changes from earlier this year” — when the law’s website was not fully functioning.

“The stagnant numbers would seem to fly in the face of the strong publicity the law earned” by reaching and surpassing its goals, they stated. “For a law that had experienced almost nothing but bad news for months, one would think a little good news would lead to at least a little recovery.”

Michigan Dem Takes Steyer Cash

Michigan Democratic senatorial candidate Gary Peters attended a fundraiser held by anti-Keystone billionaire Tom Steyer despite his proclaimed opposition to the influence of out-of-state billionaires on Michigan politics.

Steyer, a hedge fund billionaire, has pledged to spend $100 million in 2014 to elect environmentalist Democrats in February. Peters accompanied Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) to Steyer’s San Francisco mansion less than a week after the announcement. The pair dined on salmon and grass-fed beef from Steyer’s personal ranch and before walking away with $400,000 for Reid’s Senate Super PAC.

Peters has collected $170,000 from leadership PACs, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

Peters’ pilgrimage to San Francisco contrasts his commitment to getting so-called dark money out of politics, as well as his public statements criticizing the libertarian Koch brothers. His campaign site’s blog attempted to connect Republican candidate Terri Lynn Land to the liberal boogeymen.
